A team of 18 walkers and eight budding marshals from Ansons Solicitors took part in this year’s St Giles Hospice Solstice Walk in Lichfield on 18 June. The team has so far raised over £350, with more sponsorship coming in.
Over 800 people donned their fairy wings and pink tutus to take part in the nine mile night-time walk around Lichfield. Walkers were able to enjoy the solstice sunset party, ending with the release of hundreds of balloons into the sky in memory of loved ones.
All money raised by the walk will go to St Giles Hospice, a charity which provides medical and nursing care for local people living with cancer and other serious illnesses. The charity also offers support to the families and helpers of patients.
Jagdip Bains, senior associate solicitor in the dispute resolution team at Ansons said, ‘It was fantastic to be able to take part in the walk again and we are pleased to have raised over £350 thanks to the kind donations of our sponsors. At Ansons Solicitors, we recognise the importance of supporting the hard work of the volunteers at St Giles Hospice, who provide vital support to people in the local area.’
