Marie is the head of Ansons’ wills and probate team based in Lichfield. She advises clients across Staffordshire on a wide range of issues including:

Marie is a member of STEP (Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners), and was one of first solicitors in Staffordshire to become a member under the new regime of having to pass four sets of written examinations.

In particular, Marie has expertise in handling agricultural estates and complex probate issues for farmers in the Staffordshire area.

Marie often speaks on inheritance tax planning and gives talks to groups such as Rotary and Probus Clubs.

Marie is also an expert member of the charity team. As well as being frequently involved in local charity events, Marie is clerk to The Mary Slater Charity in Lichfield.

Recent examples of how our wills and probate lawyers have helped our clients include:

  • Marie took over the administration of a multi million pound estate after the bankruptcy of the previously appointed executors. The estate consisted of various commercial and agricultural properties together with a business. The case involved several court applications and detailed involvement with the Inland Revenue.
  • Marie acts regularly for local farming families and together with Simon James is able to offer a comprehensive service for both will drafting and advising on and dealing with agricultural estates.

Marie is a keen runner. She is a member of Lichfield Running Club and has ran the London Marathon twice for charity, which also helps her to run after her two energetic young boys.
